Hello, I’m Chandra! I grew up in a small town in Illinois. A cavity-filled childhood and two years of braces sparked my interest in dentistry. My journey began as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant before I decided to attend Dental Hygiene school. I’ve been a Dental Hygienist in Indiana for 4 years. Motivating and inspiring patients with positive reinforcement is what I find most rewarding for as a Hygienist. I enjoy reading during the winter and being outside with my boyfriend and his jack russell, Milo, in the summer. Yoga, boxing and weight training keep my mind and body connected.
What’s the best thing you’ve seen, listened to or read lately?
I always try to encourage others to have a more positive perspective. The best book I’ve read lately is called The Four Agreements. It’s an inspiring read on personal freedom and showing light in areas where we often forget.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
Most people don’t know that I started playing drums in 5th grade. I currently own a djembe drum, originating from West Africa, that is played by slapping the drum with your bare hands.
